چکیده

A facile strategy for the design of porous supports was obtained by modifying sol-gel method followed wet impregnation technique. In this respect, herein, acidity γ-Al2O3 phase modulated adding basic MgO, La2O3 or ZnO promoters to form binary supported catalysts. The Ni and Co dispersion on associated with their tunable morphologies resulted in highly alumina-based physicochemical properties solids were comprehensively investigated XRD, textural properties, Raman FTIR spectroscopy, SEM-EDS, TEM, EPR XPS analyses. catalytic performances esterification glycerol presence acetic acid (EG) acetins production evaluated. dispersed NiO Co3O4 active species produced synergistic effects appearing be reason activity EG reaction. Under optimized reaction conditions, NiCo/MgO-Al2O3 found a robust solid superior performance improved stability four cycles 65.0% conversion an exclusive selectivity 53% triacetin. Co2+/Co3+ Ni2+ strongly interacting spinel MgAl2O4 phases, latter having large number lattice oxygen species, considered another component besides those glycerol.

Effect of Nickel Particle Size on Alumina Supported Nickel Catalysts for p-Nitrophenol Hydrogenation

The catalytic hydrogenation of p-nitrophenol to p-aminophenol was investigated over alumina supported nickel catalysts prepared by impregnation reduction method and mechanical mixing method. The catalysts were characterized by XRD and FESEM. The results show that the nickel particle diameter of alumina supported nickel prepared by impregnation reduction method (denoted as Ni/Al2O3) is slightly ...

A Highly Hydrogen Permeable Silica Membrane Supported on Porous Alumina

In previous chapters, the synthesis of a highly hydrogen selective membrane formed by the deposition of a silica layer on top of a Vycor glass substrate was discussed. In this chapter, the preparation of a composite membrane using a porous alumina support is described. This membrane showed a high hydrogen permeance of the order of 10 mol m s Pa at 873 K with selectivity of hydrogen over CH4, CO...

An XPS study of CrOx on a thin alumina film and in alumina supported catalysts

We have investigated chromium layers evaporated onto a thin alumina film at room temperature. The oxidation and reduction behavior of this model catalyst was compared to atomic layer deposition (ALD) and impregnated alumina supported catalysts using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) with a detailed analysis method utilizing asymmetric peak shapes to represent both metallic and oxidic state...

'H MAS NMR Studies of Alumina-Supported Metal Oxide Catalysts

The interactions of two-dimensional vanadium oxide and molybdenum oxide overlayers with the surface hydroxyls of an alumina support were examined with 'H MAS NMR spectroscopy. The measurements demonstrated that these surface metal oxide overlayers are homogeneously distributed over the alumina surface and essentially titrate all the accessible surface hydroxyls at monolayer coverage. The invest...

Preparation and structure of alumina supported niobia model catalysts

Niobia/alumina model catalysts were prepared by physical vapor deposition of Nb in an oxygen atmosphere onto thin alumina films. Structural characterization, performed with scanning tunneling microscopy and infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy, revealed highly dispersed N2O5 nanoparticles exposing Nb=O groups. Thermal stability of the system was also examined. The results are compared wi...
